Flylinktech Jump Starter Review
Here at Car Battery Geek, we love these days – we get to dive deep into a product.
On this occasion, we’re jumping (pun intended) headfirst into a Flylinktech Jump Starter Review.
Specifically, we’re testing the Flylinktech portable 2500A model.
We’ll look at the market and check out how this model places, in terms of value and quality.
The NOCO Boost range dominates this market, while Topdon have risen quietly in the background to stake a claim.
Another new(ish) entrant is Flylinktech. Straight off the bat, we’ll let you know that they can’t rival NOCO for quality, but we’ll answer the most important question:
How well does this battery booster pack actually work to jump start your car?
With a side helping of:
- what buyer type is this model best suited for? And;
- how well can you expect it to work when you need it most? For example, in the sometimes pretty goshdarned cold temperatures we get here in Blighty.
Check out the price and specs on Amazon.
And, most importantly, read on and enjoy our analysis.

What was the basis for this Flylinktech review?
We put it through the tried and tested Car Battery Geek methods to rate a product.
We focused on the following key areas:
- Ability to jump start batteries of various sizes
- How well it works in cold temperatures
- The type and grade of the internal components
- How well the clamps grip (how well it grips a battery with terminals that are not so handily placed, and not so clean)
- The quality of the clamps (materials used, and ability to transfer the power)
Rating the Flylinktech Jump Box
Let’s get to grips with this model; here are the things that tested well, and the things that were not so good.
Flylinktech Car Jump Starter 2500A
Pros and who needs this model:
Works consistently well on smaller vehicles, in the majority of conditions
What impressed us about the Flylinktech 2500A model was the consistency of successful jump starts. That’s because we have plenty of experience with low-cost, smaller size jump starters. And we found them to surprise us with a successful jump one moment, and let us down the next. This one, though it has its limitations, it did successfully jump vehicles with small to medium engines and quite low (but not very low) CCA.
Very low cost for a decent quality jump starter
For a jump starter that works as well as this one (albeit, not for everyone and it has its weaknesses compared to other products, read the cons below for more), the value is really quite excellent.
A genuinely surprising waterproof and dustproof protection ability
We’ve comes across the Flylinktech jump starter a few times now, and seen first-hand the appreciation users have for it, especially given how low priced it is. But we really surprised when we came to do this review, and found out it has IP67 protection. That means it has high levels of both waterproof and soldproof ingress protection.
Cons and which buyer type may not be suited:
Doesn’t deliver enough power for medium to large vehicles, with batteries in poor condition
There are a many different variables involved in rating the difficulty of a jump start. But if we were to condense them into a few key factors, we’d say: the overall condition of the vehicle battery (how low the CCA of the battery is at that moment), the temperature (of the environment, battery and jump starter unit itself), and the engine size. Here’s how much CCA is affected by temperature. In our analysis, we found the Flylinktech jump starter was good for smaller engine sizes with a battery in a moderately poor condition, in cold weather. But could not provide enough power for medium to large engine sizes, when the battery had a relatively low CCA at that time (due to being in very cold temperatures or the battery being very old or in poor condition).
The capacity is quite low, at 13,200mAh
What does that mean for you? It means it won’t last that long, if you leave it in your car. In a sense, that’s easily remedied if you’re attentive, and keep an eye on the charge. But this is real life, and many people have busy lives with a lot going on. If you’re one of those people, you may want to go for a jump starter with at least 25,000mAh capacity,(from a good maker, whose jump starter battery has tested well for low self-discharge, like NOCO or Topdon) as it can then reliably last multiple months left in your glovebox, (relatively) unthought of.

Flylinktech Jump Starter Review Summary
That concludes our Flylinktech Car Jump Starter Review.
We found it to be a solid low-cost jump starter; that works consistently well on small to medium vehicles, where CCA (Cold cranking amps) is moderately low.
Who is it not suitable for? Those with large engined vehicles. It also depends on your attitude to risk; those who really want a jump starter to depend on even if it’s really cold, and if the battery is old or in poor condition, would be better to go for a NOCO (check out the 2000A NOCO GB70 jump pack), Topdon (we’ve also reviewed the Topdon JS3000) or perhaps a larger 3000 or 4000A Gooloo Jump Starter.
Otherwise, here’s where to see this 2500A Flylinktech model on Amazon.
Good luck with whatever you decide, stay safe on the roads this winter!
