Pros and who needs this 12V battery:
Lion are a solid maker
Out of all the low cost battery manufacturers and brands, Lion are the best of them. Their build quality is solid and the internal components are good quality.
There’s enough power
The 340CCA is good enough to start your car, even in cold weather conditions. Lion batteries are well made. The 063 battery will consistently deliver reliable starting power. That’s as long as you don’t allow it to become too highly discharged (for example, by only taking short journeys or rarely using the car).
Calcium technology is really good
The Lion 063 car battery is a Calcium-Calcium battery, and we can’t recall seeing this type of technology at such a low price. We’ve written extensively about Calcium batteries, but as a summary, they have more starting power, they cope better with high discharge (when the battery’s low on charge), and they corrode less than normal lead-acid batteries.
It’s really low cost
It’s certainly the best-low cost 063 car battery on the market in the UK. It’s £20-40 cheaper than the bigger brand batteries of this size.
Cons and why this model is not for you:
The power won’t last forever
You’ll get a solid innings from this battery, but be aware that when you get towards the end of its cycle life, it won’t handle difficult conditions as well as some of the more expensive battery makes (like Varta or Bosch, for example). CCA (Cold Cranking Amps, a measure of battery health and also the ability of the battery to start the car) in all batteries drops over time. When battery health drops to 70%, CCA will be 238CCA, and that’s starting to look a little low to start your car in cold weather. Though you can improve CCA, or stop it reducing so much in the first place, with a battery desulfator.
Not the best for large-engined cars
If you’ve got a big, heavy vehicle the starting power may not be enough for you. If you’ve got a small or medium size car it’ll work just fine.

All in all it’s a really solid performing battery and will do the job for a low price. It’s a really good price for a Calcium battery; that’s a technology that means the battery has more power than a traditional battery of this CCA and capacity would have.
