Rating the Lion 075 Battery
Let’s check out exactly what we found to be the pros and cons of this car battery.
Lion 075 Car Battery
Pros and who needs this 12V battery:
Its capacity is on a par with much more expensive batteries
That means it’ll hold as much charge as other batteries. Of the 075 batteries, we’ve tested, only a couple had higher capacity than the 60Ah of this Lion battery, and even then they were just 61Ah.
It has high enough CCA
We rate a CCA of 500 as being enough for most vehicles in most circumstances. Some of the higher quality (and so more expensive batteries) have just 40CCA more. FYI, here is the market price of a car battery in 2023.
Overall build quality is really solid
From our analysis, it’s a well made battery. We were happy with the quality of the internal components, and the casing. In this sense, it’s a match for the more expensive batteries.
It lasts better than expected
For such a low priced battery, it has surprising longevity (or is it surprising? – check out this Lion batteries review). We put the feelers out to our contacts in the field, and found that there were few issues reported for this model. It doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll last as long as the high end batteries, but it’s not going to fail on you really fast, either.
Cons and why this model is not for you:
Some other 075 batteries have 20% higher CCA
Does that actually make a difference? What does this actually mean in practice? Those are the questions we always get when we say things like that. And the answer is that in the vast majority of circumstances, it won’t make that much of a difference as long as the car has “enough” Cold Cranking Amps. And, as we said earlier, the Lion 075 battery’s CCA is certainly “enough”. The time that it may become not enough is if you have a large, heavy vehicle and the weather is extremely cold. In that scenario, it could be that the battery with 20% higher CCA has enough power to start your car; and the Lion battery doesn’t.
A less established battery brand makes it a little more risky
Lion have been around for a few years now, and as we mentioned, their batteries are growing in popularity. Even so, some people prefer to buy from a more established brand, like Bosch, or Varta. If they’re buying an expensive product, they like to go for a name brand. Perhaps because of a feeling that these well-known brands have more accountability to their customers than a more obscure maker. The Lion 075 car battery’s 3 year guarantee is decent, that being said.

Lion Battery 075 Review Summary
That, then, was our Lion 075 Car Battery Review.
If you just want a one sentence summary, it’d be this: it does the job.
And if we may expand on that way, we’d say it does a job not a million miles away from more expensive batteries.
The only objection is that the cranking power is a little on the low side for extremely cold weather when you have a large and heavy vehicle.
If you decide the Lion 075 battery (on this link you can see price, size, specifications on ebay) is the one for you, then all the best.
